Childhood

Barack Hussein Obama was born on August 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was a child of mixed race, his father, Barack Obama Sr, was from Kenya and his mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, was from Kansas. They met in the university in Hawaii, where they both took the same Russian language class. They married on February 1691 and separated in August 1961, when Dunham took her newborn son to Seattle, where she attended a University of Washington.
